Classes & Programs

Fitness is for everyone who wants to move

Hero Academy’s jiu jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing and Fitness classes are for everyBODY. We don’t limit our classes to skill or physical ability.  Based out of North Vancouver, we create a  welcoming and inclusive environment and taper our classes and movements so that you can be yourself while feeling brave, challenged and safe so you can let your inner hero shine. 

Strike | Boxing & Muay Thai

STRIKE takes a fun approach to traditional Boxing and Muay Thai while focusing on teaching you the proper punching and kicking technique. We incorporate bag drills, striking drills with a partner, and cardio in this high energy workout.  We have STRIKE levels 1-4 to help fine tune and develop skills.

This class is suitable for all levels and is non contact.

JITS | Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program

Brazilian jiu jitsu (BJJ) combines movement, strategy and defence to create “the gentle martial art”.  It will challenge both your body and mind and provide you with instinctive problem solving skills.  Our classes are open to all levels from beginner to advance and will focus on building fundamentals that will progress to advanced movements. 

Competitive Program

Our Competition Program is designed for athletes who want to compete—or train at a competitive level—in Boxing, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Striking (Boxing & Muay Thai)
Striking competition classes are invitation-only, ensuring a focused and committed training environment. This program builds on fundamental skills with an emphasis on fight application, timing, defense, and performing under pressure.

Training includes structured bag work, partner drills, advanced combinations, and controlled sparring. Sessions are tailored to each athlete’s experience and goals.

Competition opportunities are available for teens and adults (14+).

Please note:
Athletes who wish to spar or compete in boxing must be registered with Boxing BC and have a valid medical on file. A mouthguard is mandatory for all sparring.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)
Our BJJ competition program is open to kids, teens, and adults who want to test themselves in a competitive setting. Athletes will develop advanced technique, strategy, and conditioning through structured training and live sparring.

Kids & Youth Programs

Hero Academy’s kids & youth jiu jitsu and Muai Thai (kickboxing) programs will help your young hero discover their inner and outer strength while building athletic skills and confidence in a fun and challenging environment.

We offer Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai (kickboxing) and MMA for kids and youth Kindergarten to Grade 6. 

Teen Programs

Our Teen Boxing, Muay Thai, and Jiu-Jitsu programs are designed to help teens build real confidence, learn practical skills, and stay active in a supportive, non-intimidating environment. Through training, teens develop problem-solving abilities, mental resilience, and healthy habits that carry into everyday life.

These programs follow a structured, progressive curriculum and are ideal for ages 11–15, whether they’re brand-new to martial arts or looking to take their skills to the next level.

HyRox Training

This high intensity interval class will have you feeling like a Hero as soon as the buzzer goes! This class mixes strength, cardio and agility to provide you with a full body, fun workout.  Think sled pushes, battle ropes and slam balls.

This class is suitable for all levels.

Private Training

TRAINING FOR YOUR LIFE. Maybe you want to run a marathon or just run up a flight of stairs without feeling winded.  We’ve got your back. Our personalized 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 programs are tapered to your goals and current abilities. From functional fitness to striking, jitsu and mobility we can help you push farther and achieve more in a safe, judgement free environment.
